GSE ENGINEER
Location: Ping Handling Ltd, Edinburgh Airport

We are looking for an experienced and motivated GSE Engineer to join our busy airport engineering team at Edinburgh Airport.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, inspecting and repairing a wide range of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) used to support aircraft and ramp operations.
This is a hands-on engineering position where safety, reliability and equipment availability are essential.
THE ROLE
As a GSE Engineer, your main responsibility will be to ensure that our GSE remains safe, reliable and operationally ready.
Your duties will include:
· Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM).
· Servicing GSE in accordance with maintenance requirements.
· Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
· Carrying out repairs and component replacement.
· Inspecting equipment for defects and safety issues.
· Responding to breakdowns and operational faults.
· Carrying out post-repair testing.
· Completing maintenance and inspection records.
· Ensuring equipment is safe before returning it to service.
· Reporting major or recurring faults.
· Working closely with the Station Manager and GSE users.
· Maintaining a clean and safe engineering work area.
· Following company health and safety procedures at all times.
· Working safely within the airport environment.
EQUIPMENT YOU MAY WORK ON
Depending on your experience, the role may involve a variety of aviation GSE / E-GSE, including:
· Pushback and towing tractors
· Belt loaders
· Baggage tractors
· Passenger steps
· Hi-loaders
· Ground Power Units (GPU)
· Air Start Units (ASU)
· Cargo equipment
· Forklift and other support equipment
Experience with aviation GSE / E-GSE is highly desirable.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should have:
· Relevant engineering or mechanical experience.
· Experience carrying out maintenance and repairs.
· Good mechanical fault-finding skills.
· Good understanding of electrical systems.
· Understanding of safe working practices.
· Ability to complete maintenance documentation accurately.
· Ability to be flexible if required.
· Ability to work airside.
· Ability to obtain the required airport security/airside clearance.
· A 5-year checkable work history for airport clearance purposes.
DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE
The following would be advantageous:
· Previous GSE experience.
· Airport or ground-handling experience.
· HGV/heavy vehicle maintenance.
· Plant or commercial vehicle maintenance.
· Diesel engine experience.
· Hydraulic system experience.
· Electrical fault-finding experience.
· Experience with diagnostic equipment.
· Experience working within a PPM system.
· Relevant engineering qualifications.
Pay: £25,420.00-£46,654.00 per year
