Function: Mortgage Consultant
Reports to: Sales Manager/Director
Purpose of Role: To help clients secure the most suitable mortgage for their needs while guiding them through what can be a complex financial process.
Key Responsibilities
Main Tasks
- Speak with clients to understand their financial goals and borrowing needs
- Assess clients’ financial situations, credit histories, and eligibility for mortgage products
- Research and compare mortgage products from multiple lenders
- Recommend suitable mortgage and refinancing solutions tailored to client needs
- Guide clients through the mortgage application and approval process
- Collect and review financial documents and supporting information
- Liaise with lenders, solicitors, valuers, and other third parties to progress applications
- Ensure all applications comply with regulatory and company standards
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and lending partners
- Stay informed about market trends, lending policies, and mortgage regulations
- Generate new business through client referrals.

- Conversion rates from applications to approvals
Competencies
Essential
- CeMap Qualified
- Minimum 12-months broker based experience
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written) at all levels
- Proactive and flexible approach with drive and determination
- Ability to work under pressure
- Able to work under own initiative with enquiring mindset
- Highly organised
- Professional approach and appearance with strong attention to detail
- Technical competence in Microsoft applications with accurate keyboard skills
