Depot Operative
An exciting opportunity has arisen at our Runcorn Depot. Harrowden Turf is one of the largest turf growers in the UK and we have 3 depots where customers can pre-order and collect turf and other products. We are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated team player who is punctual, reliable and hard-working. Driving and/or forklift licenses desirable but not essential.
Duties will include:
- Managing the stock position of this perishable product to support sales but minimise waste.
- Completing all relevant paperwork and records on a daily basis.
- Processing customer orders by phone, email or face to face in an accurate and timely manner.
- Processing card & cash payments, ensuring policies and procedures regarding data security are adhered to.
- Utilising best customer service skills to resolve any customer queries or complaints and where necessary escalate complaints to Management in a timely fashion.
- Proactively communicating with other team members to ensure the smooth running of the business.
- Wearing the uniform/protective clothing supplied and to maintain it in a clean and fit state.
- Maintaining a tidy, safe and presentable environment for visitors to the depot.
- Loading and unloading vehicles delivering to or collecting from Harrowden Turf using either physical or mechanical (full training given) means.
- Keeping and maintaining records of stock, sales and waste in a correct and legible manner as required by management.
- Providing advice on sales and after sales care of products as required.
- Monitoring people/vehicles coming onto company property.
- Adhering to all Health & Safety guidelines.
Hours of work 7am to 3.30pm – but will need to be flexible to meet business requirements. Some level of overtime may be required at busier times of the year.
