Position: HR Assistant
Position Type: Permanent, Full-time, office based.

Key Responsibilities
- Support recruitment and workforce planning: assist with job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, offer letters, onboarding, leavers, redundancies, and changes in employment status.
- Maintain accurate employee records, accident/incident reports, and HR databases in line with legal requirements, audits, accreditations, and certifications (including GDPR/data protection).
- Coordinate the full employee training cycle: book courses, track attendance and completion, and maintain training records for operatives and office staff.
- Prepare and maintain HR trackers and assist with routine HR reports.
- Act as a first point of contact for HR queries and resolve them effectively.
- Support the implementation, communication, and periodic review of HR policies, procedures, and guidelines to align with company strategy and compliance needs.
- Assist with disciplinary and grievance processes, confidential discussions, and random drug and alcohol testing in line with company policy.
- Liaise with external agencies, colleges, and industry partners to meet staffing needs, support candidate communications, and employer branding activities.
- Promote staff wellbeing initiatives and contribute to a positive, inclusive workplace culture.
- Assist with promoting company events and activities.
- Provide reception cover, including answering and directing phone calls, greeting visitors, and offering general administrative support to the HR team and wider business.
- Ensure all HR day-to-day activities are completed in accordance with company procedures, confidentiality, and data protection requirements.
- Assist with Ad hoc duties as required.
Experience and Skills
· Candidates must have the right to work in the UK. The company does not sponsor work visas.
· CIPD Level 3 qualified (or working towards CIPD Level 3/5 with relevant HR experience).
· Previous recruitment experience (e.g., job postings, CV screening, interview coordination).
· Proven experience in an HR Assistant, HR Administrator, or similar HR support role.
· Hands-on experience in day-to-day HR administration, including maintaining accurate employee records and HR databases.
· Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, with intermediate Excel skills and experience using HR/recruitment systems.
· Experience within the construction industry would be advantageous.
· Understanding of Right to Work and pre-employment compliance requirements.
· Good communication and people skills.
· Strong organisation and attention to detail.
· Ability to prioritise multiple recruitment and HR activities.
· Proactive and able to work effectively as part of a team.
What We Offer
· Competitive salary of £30,000 - £33,000 per annum, depending on experience.
· Monday to Friday, typically 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
