Facilities Services is part of the Estates and Facilities Directorate, delivering in-house soft FM services across Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Services are provided across multiple sites including Highbury Hospital, Hopewood, Lings Bar Hospital (LBH), Community South locations, and Wells Road / Duncan Macmillan House.
We are looking to recruit Bank Facilities Assistants to support a range of services across these areas. The successful applicants will be responsible for delivering a high-quality service, contributing to a clean, safe, and well-maintained environment. Duties will include supporting domestic cleaning, catering services (including kitchen assistant duties at Wells Road), ward housekeeping (including Castle Ward at LBH), and general facilities support.
Key areas of focus include supporting Pegasus Ward at Hopewood (CAMHS Eating Disorder Service), Castle Ward at Lings Bar Hospital, and catering services at Wells Road, where demand is highest. The roles require flexibility to work across different sites and service areas to ensure consistent service delivery.

The Facilities Assistant will work as part of the Estates and Facilities Directorate to deliver high-quality soft FM services across multiple Trust sites, including Highbury Hospital, Hopewood, Lings Bar Hospital (LBH), Community South locations, and Wells Road / Duncan Macmillan House.
The role is essential in supporting the provision of a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for patients, staff, and visitors, contributing directly to patient care and experience.
Main Responsibilities
Deliver a high standard of cleaning and domestic services, ensuring all clinical and non-clinical areas meet required hygiene and infection control standards
Provide catering support, including food preparation, service, and kitchen duties as required (including kitchen assistant responsibilities at Wells Road)
Undertake ward-based housekeeping duties, including supporting patient environments such as Castle Ward at Lings Bar Hospital
Support specialist service areas such as Pegasus Ward (CAMHS Eating Disorder Service), ensuring consistent and timely catering and cleaning provision
Carry out portering and general facilities duties where required, including movement of equipment, stock, and supplies
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Infection Prevention & Control (IPC), and Trust policies and procedures at all times
Maintain safe systems of work, including the correct use of cleaning equipment, materials, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
Work flexibly across different sites and service areas to meet service needs
Report maintenance issues, incidents, or concerns in a timely manner
Contribute to maintaining adequate stock levels of cleaning materials, consumables, and catering supplies
Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), supporting colleagues across domestic, catering, and portering functions
Respond to urgent cleaning or service requests to maintain safe environments
Support service delivery during periods of high demand, staff absence, or operational pressure
Maintain professionalism and a positive attitude when interacting with patients, staff, and visitors
