This is an exciting opportunity to join Prof Steve Wilson and Dr Tom Hawkins.
We are looking for a Research Technician (Grade 7) to join our exciting multidisciplinary team led by Prof Steve Wilson and Dr Tom Hawkins using zebrafish to study the development of brain asymmetry at UCL/Biosciences (http://zebrafishucl.org).
The main purpose of this role is to support our research into neuronal patterning and brain asymmetry. Both independently and as part of the asymmetry research team, you will conduct experiments using cutting edge techniques such as CRISPR-Cas9, scRNAseq and ATACseq analysis, quantitative imaging, high throughput screening, multiplexed in situ hybridization approaches to identify and study genes involved in the development of brain asymmetries in zebrafish. In addition to these duties, you will also be expected to provide technical support across the zebrafish research facility to support research and help with the supervision of students.
This role is for one year in the first instance.

You must have a PhD in a relevant subject area. You will have relevant laboratory experience and be able to demonstrate knowledge of zebrafish husbandry, genotyping, micro-injection, molecular biology particularly Crispr/Cas9 gene targetting, MiSeq analysis, HCR, IHC, in vivo imaging and quantification. Experience of working with large scRNAseq datasets is essential. A PiL HO Personal Licence for working with zebrafish is highly desirable.
