Overview
We are looking for a caring, reliable and enthusiastic Health Care Assistant to join our dedicated team.
As a Day Health Care Assistant, you will support residents with their day-to-day needs, promoting independence, dignity and choice while providing high-quality, person-centred care in a warm and welcoming environment.
Our Health Care Assistants work 12-hour day shifts, including some weekends.
Responsibilities
- Support residents with personal care, including washing, dressing, continence care and mobility, while maintaining dignity and independence
- Assist residents with meals, drinks and nutritional needs
- Respond promptly to call bells and requests for assistance
- Support residents to participate in activities and maintain their interests and independence
- Observe residents and report any changes in their health, wellbeing or behaviour to senior staff
- Follow individual care plans to ensure residents receive appropriate and person-centred support
- Communicate effectively with residents, relatives and other members of the care team
- Maintain accurate care records and complete required documentation using our electronic care system
- Support the general wellbeing, safety and comfort of residents throughout the day
- Follow infection prevention, safeguarding, health and safety and other care home procedures
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience within a care home or similar setting is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided
- A kind, patient and compassionate approach
- Good communication skills
- Reliable and able to work effectively as part of a team
- Comfortable using basic IT systems for care documentation
- Good observational skills and the ability to recognise and report changes in residents' needs
- Willingness to undertake relevant training and development
Working Hours
This position involves 12-hour day shifts, including some weekends, as part of a rota.

Pay: £13.25 per hour
