Mavis Pest Control provide pest control services to both residential and commercial customers throughout London and the South East. We take pride in providing our customers with excellent service and aftercare. We are seeking 2 new Pest Control Technicians to join our team. Some experience is necessary but further training will be provided to develop the necessary skills, and you must be practical and have some experience using basic power tools.
If you’re organised and punctual, a hands-on type of person and prefer to get out and about instead of sitting at a desk then this may be the ideal job for you.
A positive approach to problem solving, and a polite positive attitude is vital for this role as you will be interacting with customers everyday and good customer service is at the core of our business.
Additionally, to attend your jobs you will be driving around for long hours and often in traffic so it's important to keep this in mind before applying. Pest control is a reactive business and emergency call-outs are common. As a result, daily schedules can change at short notice. Successful candidates must be comfortable working with a dynamic diary and understand that each day will be different.
We are looking for reliable individuals with a good attitude and good work ethic ,who want to be successful and grow with the business. The role can occasionally be fast-paced and demanding, so the ability to remain positive and smile under pressure is important.
We will provide a company vehicle and uniform.
Initially you will be shadowing an experienced technician until you’ve reached a level of competence to go out to jobs on your own. At the earliest opportunity we will put you forward for the RSPH Level 2 exam for professional development qualifications (if you haven't done this already)
This is a full time position working 40 hours per week 8am – 5pm. Overtime is available
Job role / duties:
- Carrying out residential and commercial pest control visits
- Inspecting buildings, identifying pest types and treating according to BPCA guidelines (Baiting programs, trapping programs, monitoring programs, fumigation, bird proofing etc.)
- Apply pesticides in accordance with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate service records, write reports and advise clients to prevent further infestation
- Regularly updating our CRM and the office
- Quoting for proofing work
- Driving (a lot of it)
- Keeping track of and maintaining stock & equipment
Skill or Qualifications requirements
- Full UK driving licence
- Clean Criminal record
- Likes to be hands on and outdoors
- Practical and can use basic power tools
- Willing to provide excellent customer service
- Good listening skills
- Ability to solve problems independantly
- Attention to detail and good at improvising
- Organised, reliable and punctal
- Honest & trustworthy
- Self motivated
Working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm. Out of hours work is available if you want to earn extra money.
