Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Plumber and Gasfitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing and gas systems across various commercial and residential sites. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work safely and efficiently in diverse environments. Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing and gas fitting systems in accordance with relevant regulations and standards.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialised tools to complete tasks accurately.
- Conduct inspections of existing plumbing and gas systems to identify faults or potential issues.
- Perform basic carpentry tasks related to plumbing installations or repairs.
- Assist with the assembly of components for complex systems or projects.
- Handle heavy lifting safely when transporting materials or equipment.
- Utilise mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot issues efficiently and implement effective solutions.
- Maintain detailed records of work completed, materials used, and inspections carried out.
- Ensure all work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Operate commercial vehicles for transportation of tools or materials as required.
Skills
- Proven experience in plumbing and gasfitting roles with relevant qualifications.
- Proficiency in welding techniques for pipework assembly or repairs.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment related to plumbing and gas fitting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Basic maths skills for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during installations or repairs.
- Competent in carpentry tasks associated with plumbing projects.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to manual handling guidelines.
- Experience in commercial driving is advantageous for site transportation needs.
- Capable of working independently or as part of a team under supervision as required.
