About the Role
We are looking for an organised and reliable Bookkeeper to join our team in Cottingham.
This is a varied part-time role covering purchase and sales ledger, banking, reconciliations, credit control, expenses, project accounting and general finance and office administration.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration of the business, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing supplier invoices and arranging supplier payments.
- Raising sales invoices and monitoring outstanding customer accounts.
- Assisting with credit control and customer queries.
- Completing bank reconciliations and posting/allocating payments and receipts.
- Processing company credit card transactions and employee expenses.
- Coding transactions to the nominal ledger and relevant projects.
- Setting up and maintaining project accounts and budget information.
- Assisting with month-end and year-end processes, including journals, accruals, prepayments and reconciliations.
- Assisting with VAT returns and other financial reporting.
- Maintaining organised financial records and providing general finance and office administration support.
About You
We are looking for someone with previous bookkeeping or accounts experience who is:
- Experienced in using Sage 50 or similar accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Organised and able to manage their own workload.
- Accurate with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident working with numbers.
- A good communicator with a professional and approachable manner.
- Able to work independently while also being part of a small team.
AAT qualification or relevant bookkeeping experience would be advantageous.
