About the Role
As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning, delivering engaging activities and interventions, and helping pupils achieve their full potential across a range of primary schools.
Depending on your preferences, you can choose flexible day-to-day assignments or secure longer-term placements where you can become a valued member of the school team.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting teachers in delivering high-quality learning experiences.
- Leading small group activities and targeted interventions.
- Delivering pre-planned lessons and activities.
- Covering classes during teacher absence where appropriate.
- Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
- Supporting pupils with additional learning needs (ALN/SEND).
- Monitoring and supporting pupil progress where required.
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively.
- Encouraging pupils’ confidence, independence, and engagement in learning.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and leadership teams.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking enthusiastic and experienced education professionals who have:
- Previous experience working within a primary school setting.
- Experience supporting children’s learning and development.
- Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to lead learning activities and work independently.
- A passion for supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.
- The ability to adapt quickly to different school environments.
