Family in Tividale, West Midlands are seeking an experienced and qualified Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) Tutor/Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in ABA and be able to work with children and families in a variety of settings, including in-home, school, outdoor parks, fitness clubs, and cinemas.
Hours:
- Session times typically run between 4.30pm-7.30pm (Mon-Fri) and 1pm-4pm (Weekends)
- After school and weekend sessions are potentially available
- Flexibility available
Responsibilities/ Duties
- To provide and deliver 1:1 teaching on a daily basis to work on ABA targets, including language development, Social Interaction skills, Leisure Skills, Daily Living skills, and Occupational Therapy Exercises.
- The program is led by an experienced UKBA(cert), BCBA consultant - regular workshops take place at Child's home, where new targets are set to meet the child’s individual current needs and ongoing training for the whole team.
- Using the principles of ABA to increase engagement and motivation in learning new skills.
- Share ideas and take active participation in the development of new targets and be an active team player in the ABA Workshops.
- Understand the individuals learning needs and preferences, and adapt the teaching session accordingly.
- Should aim high and take pride in the child’s success.
- Taking data and recording it in an efficient manner, making daily notes and sharing with parents to track progress.
- Collaborate with families, teachers, and other professionals to ensure continuity of support
- Provide training and support to junior ABA tutors
Skills/ Experience Required
- At least 1 year of experience providing ABA support, experienced (1 Year +) ABA Tutor/shadow would be an advantage & preferred.
- We are Looking for someone who is Fun, Energetic, Dedicated, Motivated and creative and is passionate in helping children with SEN
- The role might suit someone who has experience in working with young children in teaching / supporting in schools as a Learning Mentor, SEN Teaching Assistant, Tutor, Psychology Graduates, Assistant Psychologists, Facilitator Drama for SEN or speech & language background.
- The successful candidates must have effective interpersonal and communication skills; an ability to listen, understand, educate, advise and present and the ability to work as part of a professional team, including taking direction from professionals
- DBS Check required for safeguarding purposes.
