Specialist English & Maths Tutors Needed for Dyslexic Year 10 Student (Otley, LS21)
The Role
We are seeking two dedicated tutors (one English specialist, one Maths specialist) to support a bright young girl entering Year 10 this September. This is an alternating week arrangement so each lesson will be fortnightly. Should you have the qualifications to teach both subjects we will be happy to discuss this. Please specify in your email.
Location:
In-home tutoring in Otley, LS21.
Start Date: September 2026.
Commitment: Long-term support through two years of GCSEs.
The Student & The Need
Our student is a dyslexic learner working to close specific knowledge gaps to ensure she achieves her full potential in her upcoming GCSEs. We are looking for tutors who truly understand how dyslexia impacts learning in their specific subject:
- English Tutor: Must be skilled in multi-sensory literacy strategies and confident in supporting reading, writing, and comprehension for dyslexic learners.
- Maths Tutor: Must understand how dyslexia can affect numeracy, problem-solving, and the processing of mathematical language, adapting explanations accordingly.
Who We Are Looking For
- Expertise: Proven experience tutoring GCSE-level English or Maths.
- SEN Knowledge: A strong understanding of dyslexia and the ability to adapt teaching styles to be neurodivergent-friendly is essential.
- Approach: Patient, encouraging, and focused on building confidence alongside academic progress.
- Reliability: Able to commit to a regular weekly slot (alternating weeks) from September onwards.
