We have an opportunity for a Commis Chef to be part of the team. You will report directly to the Head Chef.
Role:
You will prepare dishes with the Sous Chef and Head Chef and are responsible for ensuring that standards are maintained for your section. It is a vital part of the position to keep food quality for both guests and staff to the best standard potentially possible. You are responsible for your professional appearance and will be expected to display yourself to CitySuites grooming standards and wearing a full clean uniform at the start of each shift.
Key responsibilities:
· Produce all necessary food for your section as required as instructed by the Sous Chef or Head Chef.
· Pro-active ordering maintaining minimum par levels of food for your section of the kitchen.
· Maintaining quality and quantity control in all aspects, from portion control to freshness of the product presented.
· Ensure that the cleaning of kitchen and food service areas are to the agreed standard.
· Be aware of your responsibilities and adhere to legislation in respect of Health and Safety and COSHH; ensure that all team members are aware of their responsibilities.
· Ensure that HACCP procedures are followed according to the company’s Food Safety Management documents.
· Assist with establishing, maintaining and monitoring the highest standards of food and general hygiene and Health & Safety in accordance with all statutory, legal and company requirements: promptly follow-up any issue raised.
· Maintain the highest standards of presentation, dress and behaviour.
· Observe company rules and procedures
· Carry out any reasonable request made by your manager
· Attend any training sessions and team meetings as required.
