Senior Software Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented software professional who enjoys building scalable applications, solving complex technical challenges, and contributing to the development of innovative digital products.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work closely with product managers, software engineers, quality assurance specialists, and business stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain high quality software solutions. You will play a key role in technical decision making, code quality, and mentoring team members while contributing to the delivery of reliable and secure applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain high quality software applications.
- Build scalable and reliable backend services, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical design decisions.
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following established development standards.
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to software engineers.
- Troubleshoot software defects and implement effective solutions.
- Support application performance, scalability, security, and reliability improvements.
- Develop and maintain automated tests and contribute to continuous integration and continuous delivery processes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation for applications and development processes.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote engineering best practices.
- Stay informed about emerging technologies and recommend improvements where appropriate.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Software Engineer, Software Developer, or similar senior level role.
- Strong proficiency in one or more modern programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience developing RESTful APIs, microservices, and enterprise applications.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms including Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with Git, automated testing, and continuous integration and continuous delivery practices.
- Understanding of software design patterns, object oriented programming, and secure coding principles.
- Experience working within Agile software development environments.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
