You will work directly with people across Bristol, Gloucester and the surrounding areas, a driving license and own vehicle is required. This role is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing tailored wellbeing support that empowers individuals to navigate challenges in mental health, employment, and daily life.
As a Wellbeing Advisor, you will work closely with adults offering individualised guidance and practical strategies with the aim to support them develop confidence, independence, and resilience. Your work will focus on promoting mental wellbeing, social inclusion, and employability skills while ensuring that each person receives the support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialised advice and practical strategies to support their wellbeing and mental health
- Guidance on tools, government schemes and associations who can support our clients and their specific needs.
- Provide specialised wellbeing support, focusing on mental health, confidence-building, self-advocacy, goal setting, emotional resilience, motivation and their mental health
- Offer practical strategies to help clients manage daily challenges related to executive functioning, social communication, and sensory sensitivities.
- Support clients in understanding their strengths, setting personal goals, and developing strategies for self-care and emotional regulation.
- Deliver individualised employability support including: CV development (including the use of CV building software and online platforms), cover letter writing, Interview preparation and mock interviews, Job Search strategies using online job boards and digital tools.
- Support individuals with digital employability tools: LinkedIn profiles, job sites and career platforms.
- Assist self-employed individuals with: marketing & branding support, social media & content strategy and accessing small business support services.
- Build strong partnerships with local employers, training providers, employment services, local councils and other support services to create opportunities for individuals and facilitate access to employment.
- Keep up to date with current job market trend, recruitment practices and wellbeing interventions.
- Act as an advocate for clients, ensuring their employment needs are understood and met in a supportive and respectful manner.
Requirements:
Essential:
- Proven experience delivering employability support, ideally within a community, health or wellbeing context.
- Confident using CV software, digital platforms (i.e. Indeed, Reed, LinkedIn) and job search tools.
- Previous experience supporting people with mental health conditions and long term unemployment.
- Ability to work directly with individuals to support their mental health, wellbeing, and personal development.
- Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with clients, build trust, and advocate on their behalf.
- A commitment to supporting individuals with empathy and respect, ensuring their journey towards wellbeing is as smooth and empowering as possible.
- A full clean driving licence and a suitable vehicle to commute around Bristol, Gloucester and the surrounding areas,
Desired:
- Background in careers advice, occupational psychology or counselling.
- Postgraduate qualifications in relevant fields (e.g., mental health, social work, psychology).
- Previous experience working with external agencies such as Jobcentre Plus, IAPT Services, or local authorities.
- Knowledge of wellbeing practices, resilience-building techniques, and mental health first aid.
