Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Fast Fit Tyre Fitter / Wheel Aligner and Mechanic to join our dynamic automotive service team. Duties
- Perform fast fit tyre replacements, balancing, and fitting with precision using hand tools and power tools.
- Conduct wheel alignments to optimize vehicle handling, safety, and tyre longevity.
- Carry out routine mechanical inspections, diagnostics, and minor repairs on various vehicle makes and models.
- Use specialized equipment to diagnose issues related to suspension, brakes, steering, and other mechanical systems.
- Assist customers by explaining repair needs clearly and providing excellent customer service throughout the service process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored after use.
- Lift heavy tyres and vehicle components safely using proper techniques to prevent injury and ensure efficiency.
Experience
- Proven experience in tyre fitting, wheel alignment, or general vehicle maintenance is highly desirable. see below for more information
- Strong mechanical knowledge of automotive systems including suspension, brakes, steering, and engine components.
- Familiarity with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers, as well as power tools used in automotive repair.
- Ability to perform maintenance tasks accurately while adhering to safety standards.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting tasks required throughout the workday.
West Coast Wheels are currently recruiting an experienced tyre fitter with a mechanical background. The suitable candidate must have a least 2 years experience in the tyre trade and
3+ years experience in mechanical duties up to full vehicle service level preferred. Wages are negotiable depending on experience/competency.
We are seeking a flexible individual who will have the ability to work in a fast paced environment, be able to multitask and have the ability to move between fitting tyres and carrying out mechanical work on vehicles to demand.
The job will involve answering the telephone and dealing with customers, diary management, calling suppliers and giving quotes to customers, using the computer to order from suppliers, fitting tyres to demand, carrying out 2 wheel laser alignment, fitting brake pads and discs, full vehicle servicing, oil changes, fitting exhausts, some welding work, wheel balancing, puncture repairs, tyre breakdown assistance and other minor vehicle repairs and maintenance.
The job will require moving between Neyland and Narberth workshops based on a weekly rota system and depending on staff levels and demand so the flexibility to work in both branches is essential. We offer lift sharing and use of company vehicles when available for commuting between workshops.
A full clean driving licence is essential due to the daily use of our mobile breakdown services.
Our Saturday opening hours are 9am - 12pm.
