ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Commercial Analyst sits within OAG's Strategic Analysis and Commercial Data Integrity function, reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic Analysis. This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who genuinely enjoys the craft: building the models, running the numbers, querying the data and telling the story that comes out the other side. Working at the intersection of Commercial and FP&A, you will support the analysis behind some of the most important commercial decisions OAG makes, from commissions execution and territory planning to white space identification and conversion analysis. The function is also being rebuilt to be AI-first from the ground up, and you will play an active part in that build, helping reimagine how analytical work gets done: faster, automated where possible and AI-enabled wherever it adds value.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:
- Support the analytical work behind commissions execution: the calculations, validation and reconciliation that keep commissions reliable cycle after cycle.
- Contribute to territory planning and white space analysis, helping quantify the opportunity in each region and identify under-penetrated accounts and segments.
- Run conversion analysis across the funnel: lead to opportunity, opportunity to close, sales cycle dynamics and the drivers behind each transition.
- Produce account, segment and regional analysis that supports pricing decisions, packaging design and commercial strategy.
- Ensure Commercial and FP&A read from the same numbers, aligning definitions, source data and calculations for core metrics such as pipeline, bookings, ACV, conversion rate and win rate.
- Support FP&A colleagues on commission modelling, capacity planning and commercial scenario analysis.
- Help reimagine recurring analytical processes, identifying what can be automated, what can be AI-enabled and what should be redesigned entirely.
- Build the tooling, dashboards and workflows that make analysis faster and more reliable across Salesforce data, revenue data and Snowflake transaction data.
- Contribute to the analytical models behind ExCo and board conversations, and help shape standards and ways of working as the function grows.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
- A solid analytical background, with experience in commercial analytics, revenue analytics or sales operations analysis, ideally gained in a B2B SaaS, data or intelligence-platform environment.
- Genuine curiosity and capability with AI tooling for analysts: comfortable using LLMs for query generation, narrative drafting and analytical exploration, and willing to push the boundary of what AI can do in an analyst workflow.
- Practical, hands on fluency with the modern data stack: SQL and Salesforce data fluency are essential, along with BI tooling such as Tableau, Power BI or Looker for production quality dashboarding.
- Good commercial instincts, and a genuine interest in what a sales motion is, what conversion rates and AOV mean for the business, and why commission design matters.
- Experience working alongside or within an FP&A function, with a practical grasp of how commercial and financial views of the business connect.
- Excellent communication: able to turn complex analysis into a clear, well-framed story that senior commercial and finance audiences can act on.
- A high standard for data integrity: the instinct to question numbers that don't reconcile, and the discipline to fix root causes rather than work around symptoms.
- A hands-on builder's mentality: someone who enjoys building the models, dashboards, automations and workflows, and isn't allergic to detail.
IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING THAT WOULD BE GREAT:
- Direct experience in or close to the aviation, travel or transport intelligence industry.
- Snowflake or equivalent cloud data platform experience, or familiarity with Python or R for analytical work, modelling and automation beyond what SQL and BI tools can do.
- Familiarity with commission design and incentive modelling in a multi-region sales organisation.
- Exposure to a fast-growth or private-equity-backed environment, or a background that bridges commercial analytics with finance, marketing or product analytics.
If you don't meet every requirement but feel excited about this role, we'd still love to hear from you.
WE WILL OFFER YOU:
You will proactively explore and adopt AI tools and automation in your day-to-day work, keeping the customer at the centre of everything you do. You will share learnings with your team and approach new technologies with curiosity and an open mind. At OAG, finding better ways to work and putting customers first is everyone's responsibility.
Real responsibility on hard problems, with the autonomy to own decisions and act on them, in an open culture built on trust.

️ 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, and a day off during your birthday month
- Octopus EV salary sacrifice scheme
