As a Contracts Manager, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of our projects. You will work closely with the head office and site teams to ensure all the standards are met and the projects are delivered on time.
This role would be suitable for someone who has previous experience on this type of role, or perhaps is looking to combine their skills on setting out/senior engineer with a contract management role.
You will be working on projects in and around the North East of England
Pay will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the whole project team from are fulfilling their duties to ensure projects achieve programme, quality, safety & commercial KPIs.
- Reviewing design prior to project starting and highlighting issues or specific details throughout team.
- Identifying design changes, looking at the implications and discussing this with site team
- Working closely with the commercial team
- Communicating with clients and workforce on site, attending client and internal meetings.
- Recording changes, unforeseen works, stoppages, problems, additional works and variations
- Monitoring plant and tools on site
- Take Offs and Measures
- Placing orders with supply chain
- Compiling and Reviewing programmes with resources
- Communicating Resources needed to others for workload to be collated
- Maintaining Health and Safety Standards on site
- Ensuring quality is maintained and QA Documents are completed.
Requirements
- Proven experience of working as a Project Manager or Contracts Manager for a groundworks or civil engineering company and managing projects
- Strong understanding of construction processes and cost management
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Great IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, construction software like Bluebeam, AutoCAD
- Relevant qualifications are desirable such as a degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- SMSTS
- Valid Driving License
