Machine Operator (Converting Department)

What You'll Be Doing
As a Machine Operator, you'll play a key role in transforming large rolls of film into finished products that meet our customers' specifications. Responsibilities include:
- Setting up and operating converting machinery
- Monitoring production runs to ensure quality and efficiency
- Carrying out routine machine checks and basic maintenance
- Completing production records and quality documentation
- Identifying and resolving minor machine faults
- Ensuring products meet customer and quality standards
- Following all health, safety and housekeeping procedures
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment (preferred but not essential)
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Good problem-solving skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A commitment to health and safety
Pay
Starting rate for the role is £14.17 per hour. Following the successful completion of your initial training programme and competency assessment, your hourly rate will increase to £14.78 per hour. (Based on a 42-hour week)
Working hours
Working on a 24/5 continental shift rota, you will alternate between days and nights:
- 6.00am - 6.00pm (Days)
- 6.00pm - 6.00am (Nights)
- Average of 42 hours per week
- Built-in rest days throughout the shift cycle
- Overtime opportunities available (Rates 1.5 or double time depending on shift worked)
