Living life to the fullest - Autistic young man seeks experienced, kind and enthusiastic Support Worker

As a growing company ABAEL Care are looking for a skilled Support Worker to work with young men with autism, epilepsy, learning disabilities, and occasionally distressed behaviours, living independently in their own homes.
Variable hours contract. Tuesday, Weds, Thursday : 7am - 7pm and 1 or 2 days every other weekend. Average 30 hours per week on a rolling two week rota.
This role focuses on providing day time support at least one very active young man (with access to a car), including supporting with personal care and medication administration and following a detailed PBS Behaviour Support Plan closely.
You’ll be working within a strong team to create a safe, happy, structured, and calm environment, encouraging independence as well as delivering personalised care in line with his unique needs and preferences.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting with leisure and work activities
- Promoting independence in daily living skills
- Providing high-quality, person-centred support
- Implementing a detailed Behavior Support Plan
- Working cohesively within a team
- Assisting with personal care, including washing and toileting.
- Administer and record medication in line with care plans and medication protocols.
- Support with epilepsy monitoring, including responding appropriately to seizures (if required) and ensuring safety at all times.
- Record and report any changes in health, behaviour, or wellbeing, and complete all relevant documentation.
- Ensure the environment remains calm, safe, and supportive
- Adhere strictly to all safeguarding and confidentiality protocols.
- Must be able to lone work

- Are physically and emotionally able to support someone with severe learning disabilities

Essential Requirements:
- Must have robust experience working as a support worker with behaviors that challenge
- Must be able to drive due to rural location
- Must have right to work in the UK (no sponsorship provided)
- Must be over 25 years old for driving insurance purposes.
- Must be able to drive a manual car
- Must be able to swim and bike ride
Desirable Experience:
- Knowledge and understanding of autism, epilepsy management, and challenging behaviour.
- Trained in medication administration, epilepsy awareness, and positive behaviour support (PBS)

Experience:
- Support Work with Autistic Adults: 3 years (preferred)
