Role Duties:
- Vehicle flow coordination — oversee parking, storage and smooth movement of all vehicles across the compound.
- Delivery and dispatch control — ensure vehicles arrive and leave in line with scheduled delivery times.
- Yard accuracy — maintain correct vehicle locations and complete documentation to site standards.
- Safety leadership — uphold company Health & Safety practices for staff and collection agents.
- Team development — train, support and develop yard staff, ensuring competence and strong performance.
- Issue resolution — handle day‑to‑day queries and escalate complex matters when required.
- Operational support — carry out cross‑functional tasks to meet yard operational needs.
- Deputy responsibilities — act as deputy for the Yard Manager and support SLA monitoring.
- Outdoor operational work — lead yard activity outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Equipment care — ensure handhelds, trade plates and yard vehicles remain serviceable.
- Flexible working — adapt working hours to meet operational demands.
Skills and experience required:
- Independent working - able to work confidently without supervision
- Decision making - comfortable working to time pressures and making efficient call
- IT capability - confident using computers and operational systems
- Positive attitude - proactive, reliable and solutions‑focused
- Instruction following - able to follow manager guidance to deliver operational KPIs
- Team collaboration - works effectively with colleagues, customers and internal teams
- Excel proficiency
- Driving licence-must hold a Full Valid UK Driving Licence
- Leadership experience -previous team leader or management background preferred
