It’s an exciting time to join us. As we bring our Cardiff coatings operations together, we’re looking for a QHSE Manager to lead Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental performance across the site.
This is a role with real influence across the business. You’ll make sure our standards and approvals are protected, risks are well managed and people understand the part they play in quality and safety.
Just as importantly, you’ll help us build a culture where quality and safety aren’t simply processes to follow. They’re part of how we work every day.
What’s the Opportunity?
You’ll take ownership of QHSE across a specialist manufacturing operation working in highly regulated industries.
Our Cardiff site operates across both industrial and medical coatings. That means maintaining different and demanding qualification regimes, including Nadcap, AS9100 and ISO 13485/EU MDR requirements.
You’ll provide the expertise and oversight that keeps those standards strong. You’ll also work closely with people across the operation to make quality and safety practical, understood and owned.
You won’t do that in isolation. You’ll work with colleagues across Production, Engineering and other functions at EPC, as well as QHSE specialists across the wider STS Group.
What Will I Be Doing?
You’ll:
- Lead Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental performance across the Cardiff site.
- Maintain our Nadcap, AS9100 and ISO 13485/EU MDR approvals and ensure we’re always ready for audit.
- Lead risk assessment, incident investigation and HSE reporting.
- Use quality, audit and incident data to identify trends and tackle root causes.
- Work with teams across EPC to improve quality and safety performance.
- Encourage people to raise concerns, challenge unsafe practices and take ownership.
- Maintain effective quality systems, calibration, document control and training records.
- Work closely with Group QHSE colleagues to align standards and share good practice.
- Manage qualification risks arising from organisational change.
- Support compliance with relevant requirements, including REACH and PFAS.
What Are You Looking For?
We’re looking for someone with strong quality and/or HSE experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
You’ll understand the importance of systems, standards and compliance. But you’ll also know that great quality and safety performance depends on people.
You’ll be comfortable getting out into the operation, building relationships and understanding how work is really done. You’ll be able to challenge when something isn’t right, while helping people understand what good looks like and how to get there.
You’ll ideally bring:
- Experience in a Quality and/or HSE role within regulated manufacturing.
- Knowledge of Nadcap, AS9100 and ISO 13485/EU MDR, or the ability to quickly learn different qualification regimes.
- Experience working with external auditors, certifying bodies, OEM customers or notified bodies.
- Strong root cause analysis, investigation and corrective action skills.
- The confidence to influence people at all levels of an organisation.
- Strong organisation and the ability to manage competing priorities.
Experience in thermal spray, aerospace coatings or medical device manufacturing would be an advantage.
Lead auditor, NEBOSH, IOSH or similar qualifications would also be useful, as would knowledge of REACH and PFAS requirements.

Pay: £55,000.00-£65,000.00 per year
