Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Garden Landscape Maintenance Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing outdoor spaces, ensuring they are aesthetically pleasing and healthy. Responsibilities
- Mow, edge, and trim lawns using hand tools and power equipment to maintain a neat appearance
- Prune shrubs, trees, and hedges to promote healthy growth and shape plants as required
- Install and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper watering of plants and lawns
- Use hand tools such as spades, rakes, secateurs, and shovels for planting, weeding, and soil preparation
- Operate power tools including hedge trimmers, blowers, mowers and chainsaws safely and effectively
- Plant new greenery, flowers, shrubs, and trees in accordance with landscape plans
- Apply fertilisers, pesticides, or herbicides in accordance with safety guidelines
- Assist with landscape design projects by preparing soil beds and laying turf or gravel
- Maintain equipment through regular cleaning and basic repairs to ensure optimal operation
- Follow health and safety procedures at all times during outdoor work activities
Experience
- Prior experience in gardening or landscape maintenance is highly desirable
- Knowledge of horticulture principles and plant care practices is advantageous
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, irrigation systems, and gardening techniques is preferred
- Growing experience or background in horticulture will be considered an asset
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining high standards of safety and quality standards
