Overview
We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Despatch / Goods Out Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for picking, packing, and preparing goods for despatch, ensuring all orders are accurate, securely packed, and dispatched on time.
This role is essential to maintaining our high standards of service, accuracy, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Picking items accurately from stock against pick lists
- Packing goods securely and appropriately for courier transport
- Labelling parcels clearly and correctly
- Preparing consignments for daily courier collections
- Checking items for damage, completeness, and correctness before despatch
- Updating despatch records and order statuses as required
- Keeping the goods-out area clean, organised, and safe
- Working closely with warehouse, refurbishment, and admin teams to meet deadlines
- Following company procedures, health & safety guidelines, and quality standards
Required Skills & Experience
- Previous picking and packing or warehouse experience preferred (but not essential)
- Good attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently under time pressure
- Physically fit and able to handle manual tasks
- Basic IT skills (for order systems / scanning where applicable)
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
