Overview
We are seeking a reliable and diligent Night Warehouse Operative to join our team. This role involves working overnight (7PM-3AM) shifts within a busy warehouse environment, supporting the efficient handling, storage, and distribution of goods. The ideal candidate will have previous warehouse experience, and familiarity with warehouse management systems. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills in materials handling, shipping and receiving, and warehouse operations.
Duties
- Load and unload lorries using appropriate equipment such as forklifts and manual handling techniques
- Assist with the organisation and storage of stock within the warehouse and loading of vehicles,
- Operate warehouse management system to track inventory movements accurately
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and materials to ensure safety and quality standards are maintained
- Support shipping and receiving activities, ensuring timely dispatch and receipt of goods
- Handle materials safely, including heavy lifting where necessary
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the warehouse environment
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational targets
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents or injuries
Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse environment is preferred
- Valid forklift licence is highly desirable (training given)
- Mechanical knowledge or experience with warehouse machinery is advantageous
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems or similar software applications
- Ability to handle materials safely, including heavy lifting and manual handling tasks
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail
- Strong work ethic and reliability for night shift hours
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving procedures is beneficial
- Construction or materials handling background can be an asset
