Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit an experienced Contracts Manager to join our Fire Stopping Division. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual to play a key role in the continued growth and success of the business.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Division, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of multiple projects ranging in value from £5,000 to £1 million.
This role requires a strong operational leader with proven commercial awareness. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards whilst maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing multiple fire stopping installation, remediation and maintenance projects simultaneously.
- Planning and coordinating labour, materials and subcontractors to ensure efficient project delivery.
- Producing and managing programmes of work.
- Monitoring project performance against programme, budget and margin targets.
- Managing project costs, variations, applications and commercial risks.
- Reviewing project profitability and implementing corrective actions where required.
- Conducting site visits and quality inspections.
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
- Producing and reviewing Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Working closely with clients, principal contractors and site teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
- Supporting the continued development and growth of the Fire Stopping Division
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in Contracts Management within the construction sector and be comfortable managing both the operational and commercial aspects of projects.
Essential
- Proven experience managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
- Strong understanding of project commercials, including margins, variations, labour management and cost control.
- Experience managing site teams and subcontractors.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable
- Experience within passive fire protection, fire doors or associated compliance works.
- SMSTS.
- CSCS Gold Card or above.
- FIRAS or LPCB knowledge and experience.
- Formal qualification in Construction Management, Contracts Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
