Scoota Mart are seeking a friendly and dynamic Retail Sales Associate to join the team in our busy Southport town centre store. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service, possess strong communication skills, and have a keen eye for merchandising. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a retail environment, engaging with diverse customers and contributing to the overall shopping experience. The successful applicant will be organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently.
Please note, a full UK driving licence is a must, preferably clean.
In addition to the salary listed, Scoota Mart offer a very generous, uncapped, commission pay structure.
*Working hours are 9:00am until 16:30 5 days out of 7. Additional hours may be available depending on holiday cover.
Holiday entitlement is 28 days per tax year including bank holidays.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting shoppers warmly and assisting with their needs
- Engage customers through effective communication and upselling techniques to enhance sales opportunities
- Maintain visual merchandising standards to ensure attractive product displays that encourage purchases
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system while adhering to phone etiquette
- Assist in stock organisation, replenishment, and inventory management to ensure shelves are well-stocked and appealing
- Manage time effectively to ensure all duties are completed within scheduled shifts
- Support team members with organisational tasks and contribute positively to the store environment
- Promote products and special offers actively to maximise sales potential
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and stock counts
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Demonstrated ability to upsell products while maintaining a professional and friendly demeanour
- Good phone etiquette when interacting with customers over the phone or via online channels
- Previous retail experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for suitable candidates
- Ability to work well within a team and independently as required
- Organised with strong attention to detail and merchandising standards
