About the Role
Axles Commercial Ltd is an innovative, ambitious company maintaining a varied fleet of unique, specialised vehicles working within the Road Maintenance and Construction industry. Due to our unprecedented and continuing growth, we are looking for additional professionals to join our team to support with Procurement and Stores, working closely with our Parts and Stores Coordinator.
We are looking for an organised and proactive Parts and Stores Assistant to join our busy HGV workshop team. You’ll play a key role in keeping our fleet moving by ensuring mechanics have the right parts, tools and consumables available when they need them.
Working closely with the workshop and suppliers, you’ll be responsible for managing stock, processing deliveries, issuing pars and maintaining accurate records. This is a great opportunity for someone with stores, warehouse, automative or commercial vehicle experience who enjoys a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, check and book in deliveries.
- Manage stock levels and maintain inventory accuracy.
- Issue parts, consumables and PPE to workshop staff.
- Support urgent and planned maintenance requirements.
- Process returns, warranty claims and associated paperwork.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised stores environment.
- Monitor outstanding orders and liaise with suppliers.
- Support operational efficiency by minimising parts-related downtime.
About You
You’ll ideally have:
- Previous stores, warehouse or stock control experience.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer literacy and confidence using stock systems.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritise workload.
- A full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
- Experience within HGV, commercial vehicle or automotive sectors.
- Knowledge of vehicle parts and consumables.
- Experience with workshop or stock management systems.
- Forklift licence (or willingness to obtain one).

Pay: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
