Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant/Team Leader to join our care home team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for senior care and leadership to make a positive impact on residents' lives. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising daily operations, supporting care staff, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality personalised care. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate transportation needs. The position is paid and suitable for those looking to develop their career within the social care sector.
Duties
- Lead and supervise a team of care assistants, ensuring they deliver compassionate and professional support to residents
- Oversee the implementation and review of personalised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Assist with the delivery of daily care routines, including personal hygiene, medication administration, and mobility support
- Monitor standards of care in accordance with regulatory requirements and organisational policies
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff, fostering a positive team environment
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities and incident reports using IT systems
- Support residents’ social activities and promote their wellbeing through personalised engagement
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations within the care home environment
- Facilitate effective communication between staff, residents, families, and external agencies
- Administering medication in accordance with policies and procedures
- Part of the on call team
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a care home or senior care setting
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide a team effectively
- Excellent communication skills to liaise confidently with residents, families, and multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of care plans, regulatory standards, and best practices in elderly or senior care
- Competent IT skills for documentation, reporting, and communication purposes
- Driving skills are advantageous for supporting residents’ outings or appointments
- Organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently
- Compassionate approach with a genuine commitment to enhancing residents’ quality of life
Pay: £13.41-£13.50 per hour
