Summary of Role
The Paint Sprayer will be responsible for preparing and spraying products provided in the Workshop to a high company standard and within required deadlines.
Key responsibilities
· Liaise with Manufacturing Supervisor on projects and issues
· Prepare timber, MDF and other joinery components for spraying and finishing
· Sand, fill, prime and prepare surfaces to achieve a high-quality finish
· Mix and apply paints, primers, lacquers, stains and other coatings in accordance with manufacturer and job specifications
· Operate paint spraying equipment safely and effectively
· Ensure all equipment is cleaned/replaced as necessary
· Carry out remedial work and re-spray components where necessary
· Maintain a clean, organised and safe spray area and workshop
· Minimise material waste and use paints and consumables efficiently
· Work closely with joiners, workshop colleagues and management to meet production schedules.
· Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with Health and Safety policies and procedures
· Adapts to changing priorities and company needs
· To be flexible and co-operative in the workplace so as to ensure the smooth and successful operation of the Workshop
· To perform any other duties as may be reasonably required from time to time as requested by your line manager or a member of the senior management team.
Person Specification
To perform successfully in this role, you will need:
Essential
· Recent relevant experience in a similar role in a fast-paced busy workshop environment demonstrating your ability to meet the demands of this role
· Have knowledge of different paint and coating systems and their application
· Recent experience working with timber, MDF and other joinery products
· Attention to detail
· Good communication skills
· Ability to work effectively both alone and in a team environment
· A proactive and flexible working approach with the ability to adapt to changing situations and duties
