Job Description
Ionix is currently looking for an Internal Sales Executive who will be a key contributor to the Commercial team, supporting Business Development by ensuring enquiries, leads and opportunities are qualified, followed up and progressed effectively through the sales process.
The role will focus on turning sales and marketing activity into well-managed commercial opportunities. You will triage and respond to inbound enquiries, support outbound and campaign follow-up activity, conduct initial qualification calls, book and prepare customer meetings, coordinate proposals and quotations, and maintain accurate sales and pipeline information in the company CRM system.
The successful candidate will be commercially minded, organised and proactive, with strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple enquiries and opportunities at different stages. Product and sales training will be provided.

Responsibilities:
· Triage and respond to inbound sales and Monitoring enquiries, ensuring all enquiries are acknowledged, logged and progressed in a timely manner.
· Conduct initial qualification calls with prospective customers to understand their requirements, application, timescales, budget expectations and decision process.
· Support the Business Development team by researching target accounts, identifying relevant contacts and preparing background information ahead of customer engagement.
· Follow up on marketing campaign responses, website enquiries, exhibition leads and partner-generated opportunities, converting interest into qualified sales opportunities.
· Book and prepare sales meetings, including arranging diaries, sending agendas, preparing background notes and ensuring relevant technical or commercial colleagues are involved.
· Coordinate proposals, quotations and supporting sales documentation, working with the Sales Director, Engineering and Operations teams where technical or commercial input is required.
· Maintain clear next steps, owners and timelines for each active enquiry or opportunity, ensuring that no customer follow-up is missed.
· Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the company CRM system, including customer information, opportunity status, next actions, quotation details and expected decision dates.
· Support the Sales Director and Business Development team with pipeline tracking, forecast updates and weekly opportunity reviews.
· Act as commercial continuity when the Sales Director or Business Development team are travelling, ensuring customer communications and internal actions continue to move forward.
· Support partner and distributor follow-up activity, including tracking partner-generated leads, arranging meetings and ensuring actions are recorded and progressed.
· Assist with preparation for exhibitions, conferences, customer visits and sales campaigns, including account research, meeting coordination and follow-up activity.
· Provide responsive, professional support to customers, partners and internal colleagues, helping to build confidence in Ionix and its products.
· Work with the wider Sales, Marketing and Technical teams to deliver the collective commercial goals of the business.
The Candidate
Essential skills and personal attributes:
· Experience in an internal sales, sales support, customer service, business development, account coordination or commercial administration role.
· Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple enquiries, follow-ups and deadlines at the same time.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with customers, partners and internal colleagues.
· A confident telephone manner and the ability to conduct initial qualification calls with prospective customers.
· Strong attention to detail, particularly in maintaining CRM records, tracking actions and preparing customer-facing information.
· Commercial awareness and an interest in how sales opportunities are developed, qualified and converted into orders.
· Ability to understand customer requirements and translate them into clear internal actions for the Sales, Engineering or Business Development teams.
· Resilience and tenacity, with a hands-on approach to follow-up, problem solving and moving opportunities forward.
· Proactive, reliable and comfortable working in a small, fast-moving team where priorities can change quickly.
· Comfortable helping with varied tasks and learning new skills across sales, marketing, customer support and technical products.
· Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
· Must hold a full UK driving licence.
Desirable skills and attributes (but not essential)
· Experience working in a technical, industrial, engineering, manufacturing, NDT, inspection or condition monitoring environment.
· Experience supporting outbound sales campaigns, lead generation or marketing follow-up activity.
· Experience using CRM systems to manage pipeline, tasks, customer records and sales reporting.
· Experience preparing or coordinating quotations, commercial proposals or customer-facing documentation.
· Knowledge of industrial sensor technologies, ultrasonic testing, condition monitoring or asset integrity markets.
· Foreign language skills would be advantageous.
· Experience supporting exhibitions, conferences, customer visits or distributor / partner engagement.
· Experience working under a quality management system, including documentation control and structured internal processes.
