Mattressnextday is one of the largest independent suppliers of mattresses, and winners of online bed retailer of the year 2023/24/25. Due to growth we are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to work in our warehouse in Whitstable, Kent
The vacancy is for an immediate start!
You will be working in a busy warehouse environment and will be responsible for completing inbound, checking, picking, dispatch routines, using a scanner based system. There is a lot of heavy lifting involved and you will be on your feet the majority of the shift. There will be some driving of a company 3.5ton van to move stock from location to location, and occasionally home deliveries, so a car driving licence (manual) with no more than 3 points is essential for this role
Successful candidates will be required to meet the following;
* Manual car driving licence ,no more than 3 points. (essential)
* Previous use of using scanners would be beneficial.
* Good physical fitness as there is a lot of heavy lifting involved.
* The ability to work under pressure and at a fast pace.
* Able to work and follow detailed instructions.
* Previous warehouse experience (Preferred)
* Current counterbalance or Pivot steer forklift licence would be beneficial.
* The role is 5 days a week Monday to Friday basis.
* Working hours are 9am - 6.15pm
(Saturday and Sunday overtime available occasionally paid at time and a half)
46 hours 15mins paid per week
Overtime will be required from time to time and will be paid at a rate of time and a half.
Starting rate will be £12.71ph with potential to rise after probation period has ended.
