Sales Manager – Builders Merchant (EPDM Roofing Specialist)

Square Root Group is an established and growing construction company that is now launching a specialist builders merchant focused on EPDM roofing systems, accessories and building materials.

The Role
As Branch Manager, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the branch while helping grow both trade and retail sales. You'll build relationships with roofing contractors, builders, developers and the general public, ensuring every customer receives first-class service.
This is a hands-on role where you'll have genuine input into how the business develops.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the builders merchant.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to trade and retail customers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with builders, roofers and contractors.
- Develop new B2B accounts and grow existing customer relationships.
- Generate new business through proactive sales and networking.
- Provide product advice and recommend suitable solutions.
- Process quotations, orders and invoices accurately.
- Manage stock levels and ensure the branch is presented to a high standard.
- Work towards sales and profitability targets.
- Keep up to date with industry products, pricing and market trends.
- arrange deliveries or and Assist with deliveries
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone with a positive attitude, strong leadership qualities and the desire to grow with the business.
Ideally, you'll have:
- Previous experience within a builders merchant, roofing merchant or building materials supplier (preferred but not essential).
- Experience in sales or customer service.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, can-do attitude.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Good IT skills.
- Confidence negotiating and closing sales.
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of the branch.
