We are looking for a Finance Systems Accountant to join our Finance Systems team at Burges Salmon. This is an opportunity to play a key role in ensuring our finance systems operate effectively while helping to drive the digitisation and continuous improvement of our finance function. The role is centred around systems, data and change, making it ideal for someone who enjoys combining their accounting expertise with technology and process enhancement. This role reports to the Senior Finance Systems Manager.
What you'll be doing
You'll work closely with colleagues across Finance and Technology to support, develop and enhance our financial systems and processes.
Responsibilities will include:
- Identifying and implementing finance systems improvements
- Leading and supporting finance system upgrades, enhancements and testing activities
- Reviewing current processes and recommending ways to improve efficiency, data quality and controls
- Supporting the development of financial reports and dashboards
- Working with stakeholders across the business to ensure our finance systems operate reliably and effectively
- Delivering training and guidance on finance systems and processes to colleagues across the firm
What we are looking for
We're interested in hearing from candidates who can demonstrate:
- Qualified or part-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant (or equivalent)
- Experience with Aderant or previous experience working within the legal sector
- Experience working in a finance systems, systems accounting or similar role
- Experience of finance system upgrades, implementations or process improvement projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience using SQL to query, analyse and interpret financial data
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
