SUPPORT WORKER – Residential Care and Supported Accommodation
Salary £28,598 to £30,024 (depending on experience) plus sleeping in payment as per rota
SES Kite Ltd provides high-quality care and support to young people and young adults with complex social, emotional and mental health needs. We support care leavers and young adults to develop independence, resilience and practical skills needed for adult life through both residential and supported accommodation services.
We are now seeking a committed and compassionate support worker to work across our residential and supported accommodation provisions in Beccles, helping young adults to build confidence, achieve personal goals, and progress towards independent living.
Typical duties will include:
· Supporting young adults to develop practical life skills, independence, and confidence for daily living.
· Contributing to a safe, nurturing, and homely environment within both residential and supported accommodation.
· Building positive, professional relationships based on trust, consistency and respect.
· Supporting young adults to access education, training, employment opportunities and meaningful activities.
· Encouraging and role-modelling positive social interactions, routines, and healthy lifestyles.
· Supporting young adults to attend appointments, activities, and community-based opportunities.
· Promoting emotional wellbeing and helping young adults to develop coping strategies and resilience.
· Working collaboratively with colleagues and external professionals to support individual support plans.
· All duties are carried out in line with individual support plans, risk assessments, and organisational policies, with a strong focus on safeguarding, empowerment and progression towards independence.
You don’t need to have any care qualifications to apply for this position but experience of working with children or young adults with social, emotional and mental health needs, learning disabilities and/or autism would be beneficial. Staff without a relevant qualification will be supported to complete a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Care.
You will need to be qualified in English Language or Literacy to a Level 1 standard and hold a full UK driving licence. Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to have your own transport.
As the homes provide care and support for young adults 24 hours a day, the position involves working shifts (with occasional sleep ins). The shift pattern is based on a 37 hour week.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and young adults and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointments are dependent on a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure.
Section 7 of the SVGA 2006states it is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children and/or vulnerable adults.
