Customer Care Operative – Responsive Maintenance
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Customer Care Operative to join our responsive maintenance team in Leeds.
The successful candidate will be responsible for attending properties and completing defects, repairs and remedial works to a high standard. You will work closely with occupants, purchasers, subcontractors and colleagues to ensure issues are resolved efficiently while delivering an excellent customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out responsive maintenance and defects liability works.
- Undertake joinery, mastic and sealing works, painting, patch repairs and general making good.
- Attend properties to investigate and resolve reported defects.
- Liaise professionally with occupants and purchasers throughout the repair process.
- Identify defects, assess the appropriate remedial action and complete works to a high standard.
- Ensure all completed works meet quality requirements and customer expectations.
- Make safe emergency situations where necessary to minimise damage or risk.
- Maintain accurate records of completed works and outstanding defects.
- Work effectively with the Customer Care team and other trades.
- Identify opportunities to improve the customer experience and help implement practical solutions.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company procedures, relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Maintain high standards of health and safety for yourself, colleagues, subcontractors and occupants.
- Ensure work areas are left clean, safe and properly finished.
Skills & Experience
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in responsive maintenance, defects, construction or property repairs.
- Good general knowledge of construction and building practices.
- Practical experience in joinery, sealing/mastic, painting, patch repairs and making good.
- Awareness of environmental requirements and regulations.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- A professional approach when working in customers' homes.
