We have an exciting opportunity for a Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join our team based at the King Street Walk in Centre, Wakefield.
What the Role Offers
This role provides the opportunity to work autonomously as an independent healthcare practitioner within a team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners. Delivering a high quality of care across a range of agreed age groups and presenting conditions within urgent care. The Advanced Clinical Practitioner will provide assessment and management of minor illnesses and injuries.
You will be part of an established, supportive and friendly team of Advanced Clinical Practitioners, and clinical support and supervision is available on site.
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner will provide clinical mentorship and leadership to all trainee and peer practitioners within the workplace when required.
Pay Rates
Rates vary depending on the time of day worked:
- In Hours: £29.89 per hour
Monday to Friday, 08.00 – 18.00
- Out of Hours: £38.86 per hour
Monday to Friday, 18.00 – 08.00 and all day Saturday and Sunday

King Street Walk in Centre is an Advanced Clinical Practitioner led service, open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, between the hours of 10.00-22.00
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Assess, diagnose, treat, refer and safely discharge patients presenting with minor illness or injury.
- Communicate effectively with patients, carers and professionals to support seamless care.
- Provide clinical advice within the multidisciplinary team and work collaboratively with internal and external healthcare partners.
- Deliver evidence-based care in line with agreed guidelines, protocols and governance standards.
- Maintain professional development through training, supervision, teaching, mentoring and revalidation.
- Keep high-quality patient care central to clinical decision-making on every shift.
We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated candidates who demonstrate the key attributes of advanced clinical practice. Applicants must be qualified ACPs with an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or a Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Clinical Practice.
The ideal candidate will have urgent care or primary care experience, including caring for adults and children. They will assess and manage minor illness and injury, identify differential diagnoses, initiate appropriate treatment and deliver evidence-based care to a high standard.
We also welcome applications from ACP candidates who may need further training to develop urgent care or primary care skills and knowledge.
