Vehicle Technician
We are looking for an additional Vehicle Technician to join our existing team of mechanics and MOT testers at our workshop. Experience is essential and must be able to work on your own. MOT qualifications are desirable but not essential. Hours of work can be flexible if required along with an early finish on Fridays. We don't work weekends so thats for you to enjoy! We offer a performance based bonus after successful probation period as we like to reward our staff. Experience Essential, while we will work with you to further develop your skills this is not an apprentice/trainee role and you will be required to work alone.
Day-to-day duties
- Carrying out servicing, repairs, and maintenance to high standards consistently
- Inspecting vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately, using computer-based diagnostic equipment.
- Repairing or replacing broken or defective parts and resolving defects efficiently and on your own
- Carrying out MOT tests (if authorised).
- Road testing vehicles to check repairs and notice any defects
- Maintaining equipment and making sure tools are in good condition.
- Following checklists to ensure all procedures are completed.
- Completing all documentation to the required standard
- Utilising our 4 wheel alignment system.
Essential skills
- A certificate in Light Vehicle Maintenance and solid work experience in the automotive industry.
- The ability to work in a competent and efficient manner on your own or as part of a busy team.
- Strong communication skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- The ability to carry out work to high standards to deadlines.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach.
- The ability to accurately follow written and spoken instructions.
- A full driving licence.
