Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Service Engineer to join our technical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing on-site technical support, maintenance, and repair services for a diverse range of equipment and systems. Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment and systems at client sites.
- Diagnose faults using schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace faulty components in mechanical, electrical, or computer hardware systems.
- Utilise hand tools and specialised equipment to carry out repairs efficiently and safely.
- Install new equipment or upgrades in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety standards.
- Troubleshoot computer hardware issues, including networking problems and software malfunctions.
- Provide technical support and training to clients on system operation and maintenance procedures.
- Document all service activities accurately in company systems, including repairs carried out and parts used.
- Liaise with the central office for technical assistance or escalation of complex issues.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during all service activities.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in equipment repair, maintenance, or related roles within a technical environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret schematics and technical diagrams.
- Proficiency with hand tools, computer hardware, and basic computer networking concepts.
- Experience with computer repair, troubleshooting software issues, and system diagnostics.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, schematics, and general maintenance procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently under pressure.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
- Valid driving licence suitable for travel between client sites is essential.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in electronics, IT support, or mechanical engineering are desirable but not mandatory.
