We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries whilst maintaining high standards of customer service. Responsibilities
- Safely operate company vehicles, including flatbed lorries, ensuring adherence to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Deliver goods and materials to designated locations within specified timeframes, maintaining punctuality and professionalism.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks to ensure optimal functioning of the vehicle.
- Assist with loading and unloading cargo, utilising warehouse experience where applicable.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance logs.
- Follow all health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving or as a delivery driver, with a strong understanding of road safety practices.
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic vehicle inspections and troubleshoot minor issues.
- Experience operating flatbed vehicles or lorries preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients.
- Warehouse experience is advantageous for loading/unloading tasks.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently.
- A valid <PERSON> driver’s licence is essential, along with a clean driving record.
