Due to continued business expansion, and operating from a brand new bigger purpose built workshop, we are seeking another experienced, passionate and like-minded Vehicle Technician/ MOT tester to join our Sunset team.
Sunset VW are a long-established Volkswagen Audi group independent specialist located in Derby city centre. We specialise in repair and maintenance of Volkswagen, Audi, Skoda, Seat, Cupra brand vehicles.
We continue to invest heavily into our staff, facilities & equipment. You’ll work within a modern workshop environment, benefitting from brand new ramps, and using the latest dealer level tooling and manufacturer diagnostic equipment.

- Permanent position, 5 days a week
- 31 days’ annual leave, including bank holidays / Christmas shutdown

What you’ll do day to day
- Completing scheduled servicing and repairs in line with manufacturer guidelines
- Carrying out MOT tests (if applicable)
- Undertaking diagnostic activities to identify causes and solutions for customer vehicle issues
- Visual health checks to inspect components for wear and tear
- Supporting other Technicians/ team members in the Workshop
- Liaising with Service Advisors and Workshop Control to provide an outstanding customer experience, and assisting in communications where required
- Ensuring all work is completed efficiently, safely, and to a high quality standard
Required skills and qualifications
- NVQ level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent
- A full UK driving license
- A current valid MOT tester License is an advantageous but not essential (training can be provided)
- Volkswagen Audi group experience preferred, but not essential
- Ability to use modern diagnostic equipment (ODIS experience preferred)
- Understanding of wiring diagrams and diagnostic processes
- The ability to work in a competent and efficient manner on your own and as part of a team
- Positive attitude & team focused approach
- Strong communication skills
- The ability to carry out work to high standards & take pride in the quality of your work and the cleanliness of your workspace
