Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Joinery Draftsman / Setting-Out Detailer / CNC Programmer to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for creating detailed technical drawings, setting out precise installation plans, and programming CNC machinery to ensure seamless production workflows. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating expertise in CAD software, construction processes, and technical detailing to deliver exceptional craftsmanship and project accuracy.
Duties
- Develop detailed joinery drawings and schematics using CAD software Sketchup and vectric Aspire ensuring all designs meet project specifications and standards
- Create accurate setting-out plans for on-site installation, translating design concepts into precise measurements and instructions for construction teams
- Program CNC machine on Vectric Aspire to produce components with high precision, optimizing tool paths and machining parameters for efficiency
- Collaborate closely with project managers, architects, and construction teams to interpret design intent and resolve technical challenges during fabrication and installation
- Utilize 3D modeling tools like SketchUp, NavisWorks, or Civil 3D to visualize projects, coordinate spatial layouts, and detect potential clashes or conflicts early in the process
- Review technical schematics and construction documents to ensure compliance with safety standards and building codes
- Support on-site teams during installation by providing detailed setting-out instructions and troubleshooting CNC programming issues as needed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in joinery drafting, setting-out detailing, or CNC programming within a construction or manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD & Vectric Aspire, SketchUp, is a Must
- Strong understanding of construction processes, site installation practices, and building codes
- Skilled in interpreting technical schematics and creating detailed fabrication drawings
- Experience with CNC programming software such as SolidWorks or other CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) tools preferred
- Knowledge of Schematics development and ability to produce accurate technical documentation
- Construction experience is essential to understand project workflows and site requirements
