About the Role
Autoinspect UK is a growing vehicle inspection platform, and we are looking for experienced, self-employed mechanics to join our network of freelance inspectors. We connect car buyers with trusted mechanics to carry out independent, pre-purchase vehicle inspections across the UK .

What You'll Do
- Travel to the seller's address to inspect vehicles before purchase
- Carry out a basic mechanical, cosmetic, and diagnostic report, covering bodywork, wheels, tyres, interior, warning lights, and general condition
- Conduct an OBD diagnostic scan and check paperwork, V5, mileage, service history, and spare keys
- Take clear photos and videos of the vehicle and any faults
- Complete and deliver inspection reports promptly using a company template
- Communicate professionally with customers and sellers
What You'll Need
- Minimum Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent)
- At least 3 years of mechanical experience
- Full UK driving licence
- Your own tools and OBD diagnostic scanner
- Public liability insurance (minimum £1M cover)
- Registered as self-employed (UTR number required)
- Reliable smartphone with internet access
- Professional appearance and customer service skills
