What to expect as a Nursery Kitchen Assitant
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Nursery Kitchen Chef to join our team. As the Nursery Kitchen Chef, you will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious meals and snacks for children attending our nursery. You will work closely with the nursery manager to ensure that meals meet dietary guidelines and accommodate any allergies or special dietary requirements. Key Responsibilities: Plan weekly menus that are balanced, nutritious, and appealing to children. Prepare meals and snacks in accordance with food safety and hygiene regulations. Ensure that all ingredients are fresh, locally sourced whenever possible, and of high quality. Accommodate individual dietary needs, allergies, and cultural preferences as required. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the nursery kitchen, including equipment and storage areas. Monitor food inventory and place orders for supplies as needed. Collaborate with nursery staff to promote healthy eating habits and provide nutrition education to children and families. Participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required. Qualifications: Proven experience as a chef or cook, preferably in a childcare or similar setting. Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for young children. Familiarity with food safety and hygiene regulations. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational and time management skills.
