An excellent opportunity has arisen for a qualified Fleet Vehicle Technician, based at Northampton workshop. The role involves maintaining a range of vehicles operated by the Trust including ambulances, fast response cars and support vehicles. It is an exciting opportunity to be part of the development of the workshop facility and repair and maintain the emergency vehicle's within our community.
The job will entail the servicing and mechanical repairs of our double crewed ambulances and fast response vehicles. It is an exciting opportunity to broaden your mechanical experience to work on the specialist equipment on emergency service vehicles.
An appropriate qualification in Motor Vehicle Engineering is essential. Level 2 applicants maybe considered.
A C1 driving licence is essential for this post so a candidate must have C1 category on their licence or commit to obtaining within the 1st year of employment.
The current working hours are 08:00–16:00, Monday to Friday, with weekend and Bank Holiday working available through overtime opportunities. There is also the potential for a future rota review which will attract USH enhancements.
It is an exciting opportunity to join the EMAS Fleet team in supporting the front line services to be able to respond to patient needs in an emergency situation.
At Northampton, we are a small busy team who believes in providing the best possible service. Our fleet team consists of a Fleet Divisional Manager and 3 Fleet Technicians.
We also have a Deep Clean Team, which works alongside the workshop. We have 3 experienced fleet drivers and 2 domestic cleaners.
The successful applicant will be expected to service vehicles in accordance with the trust service schedules. Carry out mechanical repairs to the trust vehicles to a high standard. You may be asked to go to other ambulance stations to carry out vehicle repairs.
You will also be trained to service pieces of equipment used on the back of ambulances i.e. stretchers, carry chairs, wheelchairs etc.
You will be required to go on training courses and keep up with mechanical updates.
You will also be required to carry out essential education as per the trusts requirements.
