Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating large commercial vehicles to transport goods efficiently and reliably. Your expertise in flatbed and general freight delivery will ensure timely deliveries across various locations, supporting our commitment to exceptional service. This position offers an energetic environment where your driving skills and dedication will make a real impact on our operations.
An additional payment will be made when a Night Out is held.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 trucks, including flatbed vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance.
- Load, secure, and unload cargo with precision, especially when handling flatbed freight requiring careful strapping and securing techniques.
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to optimize time and fuel consumption while meeting delivery deadlines.
- Maintain accurate documentation for all deliveries, including delivery logs, manifests, and inspection reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding schedules, delays, or issues encountered during routes.
- Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
Qualifications
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) driving license with a clean driving record.
- Proven experience as a commercial driver, particularly with flatbed or similar freight types.
- Strong understanding of driving regulations and safety standards for large vehicles.
- Delivery driver experience preferred, with excellent navigation skills and route planning abilities.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading cargo and securing loads on flatbeds.
- Good communication skills and a professional attitude on the road.

Pay: £57,000.00-£62,000.00 per year
