Overview
We are looking for a reliable and detail-focused Audio Typist to join our clinic on a part-time basis, 16 hours per week. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately transcribing clinical dictation into patient records and correspondence, helping to ensure our documentation is timely, accurate, and compliant with clinic standards.
Responsibilities
- Accurately transcribe audio recordings of clinical consultations, procedures, and correspondence dictated by clinicians.
- Produce clear, well-formatted clinical letters, reports, and patient notes within agreed turnaround times.
- Proofread and edit transcribed documents for grammar, accuracy, and medical terminology.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information in line with GDPR and clinic data protection policies.
- Liaise with clinicians and administrative staff to clarify unclear dictation or resolve queries.
- Work alongside AI dictation and transcription software/ integrations, which the clinic anticipates introducing in the future, helping to review, correct, and quality check AI generated transcriptions to ensure accuracy.
- Support the wider administrative team with general typing and document management tasks as required.
- Maintain organised digital filing of completed correspondence and reports.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an audio typist, medical secretary, or in a similar transcription role.
- Excellent typing speed and accuracy.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology (dermatology experience desirable).
- High attention to detail and strong proofreading skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and digital dictation systems.
- Comfortable adapting to new technology, including AI assisted dictation tools, as part of ongoing process improvements.
- Excellent written English and grammar.
- Ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines.
Desirable
- Previous experience in a private healthcare or clinic setting.
- Familiarity with electronic patient record systems.
Pay: £14.00 per hour
