Operations Manager – Nursing Services
Lead with purpose. Shape exceptional care. Make a difference across Jewish Care.
£88,000 per annum | Permanent | 36.25 hours per week
Based at Amelie House, NW11 | Multi-site role
This is more than an operations role. It’s an opportunity to shape how outstanding nursing care is delivered.
What does great leadership look like?
It’s the Registered Manager who feels supported to make the right decision.
The team that knows someone has their back.
The resident and family who feel genuinely listened to.
The nursing home that doesn’t just meet standards — it raises them.
That’s where you come in.
Jewish Care is looking for an experienced Operations Manager – Nursing Services to provide visible, hands-on leadership across our nursing homes, supporting Registered Managers and senior teams to deliver safe, compassionate and consistently excellent care.
This is a senior role with real influence. You’ll have the opportunity to coach leaders, strengthen clinical and operational practice, drive improvement and help shape the future of nursing services across Jewish Care.
About Jewish Care
For more than a century, Jewish Care has been at the heart of the Jewish community in the UK.
We’re the largest provider of health and social care services for the Jewish community in the UK, supporting around 10,000 people every week across services for older people, people living with dementia and people with mental health needs.
But numbers only tell part of the story.
Our homes are real homes — places built around belonging, dignity, connection and community.
Residents can enjoy meaningful activities, entertainment and companionship alongside compassionate care. Jewish traditions are part of everyday life, with synagogue services, kosher or kosher-style food, Shabbat and Jewish festivals helping create an environment that feels familiar, welcoming and connected.
And behind every great service is a great team.
Your opportunity to make an impact
Working closely with Registered Managers, clinical leads and multidisciplinary teams, you’ll help turn strategy into excellent day-to-day practice.
You’ll be the person managers can turn to when they need advice, challenge, encouragement or practical support.
You’ll:
- Lead and develop managers, providing coaching, challenge and support to strengthen leadership and performance.
- Champion clinical excellence, helping teams maintain high standards across medication, infection control, safeguarding, risk, end-of-life care and clinical documentation.
- Drive quality and governance, using audits, incidents, complaints and feedback to identify opportunities and make meaningful improvements.
- Support CQC readiness, working alongside quality, compliance and operational colleagues to embed best practice.
- Strengthen operational performance, supporting occupancy, staffing, budgets, rotas and service efficiency.
- Be visible across services, providing practical support and stepping in with short-term management cover when needed.
- Build strong relationships, working with residents, families, colleagues, volunteers and external professionals.
- Lead improvement projects, encouraging innovation, new technology and better ways of working across our homes.
- Support growth, helping promote Jewish Care services and opportunities to potential new residents.
We’re looking for a leader who...
You’re an experienced senior leader who understands that exceptional care and strong operational performance go hand in hand.
You’ll bring clinical credibility, commercial awareness and genuine people skills — with the confidence to challenge when needed and the empathy to know how to bring people with you.
You’ll need:
- Registered Nurse qualification.
- Significant senior leadership experience within Adult Social Care.
- Experience operating across multiple care services or regions.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, governance, compliance and CQC standards.
- Experience coaching and supporting Registered Managers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience with quality audits, compliance reviews and improvement planning.
- Excellent communication, influencing and relationship-building skills.
- Strong judgement, organisation and problem-solving ability.
- A full UK driving licence and ability to travel regularly between sites.
An RMA, NVQ Level 4 or ILM Level 5 would be advantageous, as would experience in dementia, older people's or end-of-life care.
Why Jewish Care?
Because the impact you make here goes far beyond the day-to-day.
You’ll help create environments where people feel safe, respected, valued and at home — while giving managers and teams the leadership they need to do their best work.
You’ll join a values-led organisation built around five principles:
Excellence. Integrity. Innovation. Compassion. Inclusivity.
And you’ll have the opportunity to shape services, develop leaders and influence the quality of nursing care across multiple communities.
