The Solicitor will manage and assist with a caseload of finance dispute resolution matters, working under the supervision of senior members of the team. The role involves advising clients on a range of contentious issues affecting financial institutions, including regulatory considerations, and supporting the delivery of legal services in accordance with client requirements and firm standards.
The Solicitor reports to the Partner and Joint Head of Finance Dispute Resolution and works closely with colleagues across the department to support the effective progression and management of client matters. The position is based at the Leeds office and operates on a full-time basis of 37.5 hours per week.

Progressing own caseload of matters which include dealing with all aspects of secured and unsecured debt recovery, with a focus on complex residential property possession proceedings.
- Drafting of claim forms and all associated documentation, including Applications, witness evidence, Defences, Replies, and saving of documentation on Case/File Management System
- Dealing with the Client, Court, Opponents &/or their solicitors, 3rd party agents such as Counsel clerks, LPC, Asset Managers and 3rd parties such as property management companies.
- Drafting substantive advice to clients, with consideration of both legal and commercial strategy.
- Drafting Relief from Forfeiture application and associated documentation
- Time recording in the firm’s case management systems.
- Working to client agreed or Departmental service standards.
- Any other tasks as set by the Partner & Joint Head of Finance Dispute Resolution
You will:
- Have at least 1 PQE in Litigation;
- Be able to manage your own caseload of complex client matters;
- Demonstrate excellent commitment to client care and good technical ability;
- Have excellent time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines with your caseload;
- Possess excellent communication skills; and
- Have a sound knowledge of IT systems and processes, such as the Microsoft suite.
